Official Daily School Attendance will be captured using the Student Portal, and students will be counted in attendance only if they log into the portal. Students would be encouraged to log in during their regular scheduled school hours. However, students will be able to log in at any time during the day to be considered present.

4/3 PORTFOLIO UPDATE: Herbert Ammons Middle School has decided to waive the portfolio, for current 8th graders only, as a requirement in order to receive their IB Certificate. The students must still meet the following requirements in order to be eligible for the IB Certificate: community service hours; all components of the service and community project; and satisfactory grades, effort and conduct for three years. 6th and 7th graders should continue to work on portfolios and service hours. Teachers will grade them at the beginning of next year. If they do not have work samples, students should still complete reflection forms for the work. They will have access to student folders upon return to school. It is our sincerest hope that this small gesture will help to relieve some of the stress of these uncertain times.
